OPTION 1:
- solid black dress pants (NOT JEANS – EVEN EXPENSIVE ONES)
- solid black, button-down, collared dress shirt
- solid black tie/bow tie
- tall, solid black socks
- solid black dress shoes (or clean marching shoes)
- NOT REQUIRED BUT ALLOWED: solid black dress vest or solid black suit coat
OPTION 2 – Wind Ensemble Concert Dresses:
- solid black concert dress (provided by the band, fitted by Rhonda)
- solid black flat dress shoes (there’s a lot more walking than you’d think)
OPTION 3:
- solid black ankle-length dress or ankle-length dress jumpsuit
- neckline and shoulders must be dress-code approved
- solid black flat dress shoes
OPTION 4:
- solid black dress blouse
- neckline and shoulders must be dress-code approved
- solid black, ankle-length dress slacks OR solid black, ankle-length skirt
- solid black flat dress shoes
NOT ALLOWED IN CONCERT BLACK:
- big, bulky jewelry that distracts viewers
- jeans (I’ve done this for almost 15 years – yes, we DO need to keep saying it)
- headphones
THINGS WE DO NOT BUDGE ON RE: CONCERT BLACK:
- This is not a fashion show – the music should always be the focus.
- Jeans are never, EVER concert black. Even black jeans, and even expensive black jeans.
- Ankle-length is non-negotiable.

Please let us know if you need help getting concert black for your student. We do have a few dress shirts and pants in the uniform room, but not many.
If you can donate some black dress pants/shirts/ties we’d love to have them!
EXTRAS FOR THE HOLIDAY CONCERT COMING UP:
Students are allowed to accessorize for the holiday concert in ways that are not allowed once we hit MPA concerts: holiday themed ties, bow ties, hair accessories, jewelry, etc. are allowed. Nothing that lights up or plays music, please.
