THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT: Marching MPA Week

Monday, 10/7 Marching Band Rehearsal -REQUIRED!

Please mark your student’s calendar as well as your own – on Monday, 10/7, we will hold our only Monday full marching band rehearsal 3:30-6:00pm.  This is tradition the week of Marching MPA as we make our last push to prepare for competition.

No split rehearsals this week!

We need ALL students present for the entire rehearsal on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  This is the only time we do not split time with other sports or clubs.  Please make arrangements now to be able to attend rehearsals in full that week.

Marching MPA day: Saturday, 10/12

We do not have our performance time yet – we should receive that in the next week or so.  Students can expect to be with us most of the day.  Our usual routine is to have a dress rehearsal on the football field followed by feeding the kids lunch.  Then we’ll travel to MPA, warm up, perform, watch a few other bands, then head back home.  There is no awards retreat at the end, so we are no longer required to stay for the entire event.

Meal Deals at MPA

Tate’s Band Boosters have offered pre-ordered meal deals for students, chaperones, and equipment crew at MPA.  They will be prepped and bagged for our chaperones to pick up and bring to our section in the bleachers.  Each meal deal will cost $9 and will come with the following:

  • Choice of hamburger, cheeseburger, or hot dog
  • Bag of chips
  • Cookie
  • Bottled water

In order to secure a meal deal, you must complete TWO steps:

  1. Place & submit your order with this form: https://forms.gle/XpfXvRv2uQygmp8F6
    1. The order form will close at noon on Tuesday, 9/24
  2. Submit payment
    1. Payments will not be accepted after noon Wednesday, 9/25

We can not accept orders or payments after those dates.  We have to turn our orders and payment in to the Tate Band Boosters then and will not be able to add any orders.

Payments accepted:

  • Cash in the BTWHS band room drop box
    • Please provide exact change or expect us to apply the overage to your fees. We can not make change.
  • CashApp: $BTWHSband
    • You must include the name of the person getting the meal deal and “mpa meal deal” in the memo line before submitting payment.
  • Credit/debit card or tap pay at the September Band Booster Meeting on 9/19
    • You must attend the meeting in order to pay

If students do not order a meal deal they should bring money to use at concessions.  Students with dietary restrictions may pack a dinner in an insulated lunch bag.

We need chaperones for MPA!

We need a few more volunteers for MPA to round out our chaperones and equipment crew!

If you attended the training meeting and filled out the district volunteer application, you’re eligible to help out.
