Let’s pay these band fees!

REMINDER: Due dates!

  • All students on a subscription billing plan through PayPal: May 2024 (your 10th & final payment)
  • All other students going on the band trip: March 1, 2024
  • All other students: May 1, 2024

REMINDER: Band fees live in the “Trip Ledger” of your Charms statement!

We fully understand that fees are not trips.  We tried putting fees elsewhere, but it was complete and utter chaos; I’m talking ‘dividing by zero’ levels of chaos.  The trip ledger seems confusing, but it is the least awful solution, I promise!

Payment option: Cash/money order in band drop box

Where is the band drop box?

The drop box is located in the wooden folder rack next to the entrance to the office in the band room.  Students have access to the band drop box any time they are in the band room.

When is the drop box available to parents?

  • SUMMER: any time the band room is open
  • FALL/WINTER/SPRING: before or after school hours when band room is open – not available to parents during school hours

How do I make a deposit?

Fill out a blank deposit envelope. Place your cash/check/money order in the envelope. Seal the envelope and put it in the drop box opening.

Here’s a PDF from our Google Drive with all the information you need about making cash or money order payments: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11jxNaHgUYP5vVOdrWPW6zLZ3dawhgDya/view?usp=drive_link

AVOID THESE COMMON MISTAKES

  • Always use a deposit envelope. I can tell you many, many stories about folks just stuffing money into the dropbox.  Please don’t become one of my stories!
  • Always include the student’s name on the envelope. This is not CSI Booker T!  We can not dust for prints to determine who dropped that mystery envelope in the dropbox.
  • Always make sure you got the envelope in the dropbox – don’t just set it in the wooden cubby in front of the dropbox.  Duck down and look for the opening in the back wall! THAT’S the dropbox!

Payment option: online credit card payment through Charms & PayPal

  1. Log in to your Charms account. Read this if you need help logging in: https://bit.ly/btwhsCharms
  2. In the HOME menu, click the wallet icon labeled “Finances”.
  3. You can view your student’s balance here. Band fees, guard fees, and rental fees are all listed on the Trip Ledger, so please don’t panic if you see charges there and your student is not going on a trip with us.
  4. Scroll down to the trip ledger and use the drop-down menu that says “———-SELECT TRIP———“ to select the trip/fee you want to pay for, then click the blue “Make Trip Payment” button. This will take you to PayPal, where you will complete this one-off transaction.

Payment option: CashApp

The band’s CashTag is $btwhsband and the name that will appear is either Victoria C, our 2022-23 treasurer, or Melissa P, our 2023-24 treasurer.

AVOID THESE COMMON MISTAKES

  • Always include the student’s name and district ID# in the memo line.  Again, we are not CSI: Booker T, and these mystery CashApp payments are even harder to solve than random cash!
  • Always include a word or two describing what the payment is for in the memo line (shirts, band fee, ball cap, etc.)  If you don’t tell me what it’s for I’ll put it wherever I think it should go.

Payment option: Monthly billing via PayPal

You can sign up for monthly automatic billing for 10 months via Paypal with these links – make sure you pick the right one!  Please sign up for automatic billing during the month of July so you will meet the due date!

Not sure about which one to sign up for?  Email me ([email protected]) with your student’s name and what section they’re in – I’ll happily point you in the right direction!

BENEFITS OF MONTHLY BILLING

  1. The latest due date for fees!  If you stay current on your monthly billing plan your fee due date is whenever your 10th & final payment lands in May – even if your student is going on the band trip!
  2. Set it up and don’t worry about it!

Please participate in fundraisers!

Fundraisers that directly benefit student ledgers will take actual dollars off your fees, trips, replacement uniform parts, etc.  There’s no such thing as “free money”, but this is as close as it gets!

Fundraisers that benefit the band’s general fund will help keep fees down for everyone next year.
